MOGADISHU, Somalia (AA) - Somali militant group Al-Shabaab killed a Ugandan soldier, according to a video released by the group on Wednesday.
Al-shabaab has released a video showing the militants killing a Ugandan soldier who had been kept by the group as the "prisoner of war" since an attack on African Union Mission forces base in Janalle, lower Shabelle region in 2015.
The Ugandan soldier, called as Masassa m.Y., was serving under AMISOM before getting captured by the militants.
The video shows the soldier sitting in front of an Al-Shabaab militant holding a pistol.
Al-Shabaab militants also released a statement in their radio channel, saying that they had killed the Ugandan soldier after sending a message to his government and his fellow soldiers in Somalia.
