NEW YORK (AA) - US low-cost carrier Southwest Airlines cancelled thousands more flights on Thursday amid mounting scrutiny.
In the aftermath of a massive winter storm, more than 2,300 Southwest flights were cancelled again, according to flight tracking website FlightAware.
As deadly winter storm Elliot continues to grip large parts of the country, the airline has cancelled more flights than any other airline during the busy holiday season causing a travel nightmare for millions of Americans.
Southwest Airlines is now facing a federal investigation. Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said Tuesday that the airline will be held accountable.
The storm has claimed at least 60 lives across the US with most of them in the city of Buffalo, New York.
