ISTANBUL (AA) - The Spanish economy grew by 3.5% in the last quarter of 2024, surpassing the market expectation of 3.2%, official data showed Wednesday.
Domestic demand contributed 3.5 points to year-on-year GDP growth, while the contribution of external demand was close to zero, according to Spain’s statistical authority INE.
Exports of goods and services registered an annual rise of 3%, 1.6 points less than in the third quarter.
On the other hand, imports registered an increase of 3.4%, up two-tenths of a point over the previous quarter.
The country's economy has expanded by 3.3%, 3.1%, and 2.5% in the third, second, and first quarters, respectively.
On a quarterly basis, the country's economy expanded by 0.8% in the October-December period.
