ANKARA (AA) - Sudan's ambassador to Turkey on Tuesday paid a visit to the headquarters of Anadolu Agency, Turkey's premier news source.
Adil Ibrahim Mustafa was welcomed at the headquarters in the capital Ankara by Serdar Karagoz, the agency's director general, and Yusuf Ozhan, the deputy director general and editor-in-chief.
In the meeting, Karagoz talked about Anadolu Agency's global news presence and journalistic work.
Ambassador Mustafa, for his part, highlighted the importance of improving relations between the two countries and the key role the media plays in this, especially the Anadolu Agency.
The agency's director general and the Sudanese ambassador also agreed to establish new cooperation between Anadolu Agency and Sudan News Agency (SUNA).
Mustafa stated that the embassy follows the news on Sudan from Anadolu Agency's Arabic page.
Karagoz also emphasized the importance of the country of Sudan to the agency, saying Sudan was especially important for its location as the news in the region and neighboring countries were also covered from there.
The director general noted that Anadolu Agency's English and Arabic language services have extensive coverage for Sudan.
Karagoz and Mustafa also exchanged symbolic gifts at the end of the meeting.
