KHARTOUM, Sudan (AA) - Sudanese President Omer Al-Bashir has sacked the foreign minister from his post, Sudan’s state news agency (SUNA) said on Thursday.
“Sudanese president has issued a presidential decree to remove the Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandiur from his post,” SUNA said in a statement without giving any reason for the removal.
In a report presented to the Sudanese parliament last Tuesday, Ghandour had decried that his ministry is suffering from deep financial crisis, adding that they have not been able to pay the salaries of the diplomatic missions abroad for the last seven months.
Last January, media reports claimed that the foreign minister had resigned from his post, but the government denied the reports.
Grandeur was appointed as foreign minister in 2015, after the presidential election that gave Al-Bashir five years in office until 2020.
