LONDON (AA) - A suspected dangerous object was found in a residential building in a Swedish town, local media reported Monday.
The incident comes after two powerful bomb explosions devastated apartment buildings in Sweden’s capital Stockholm last week.
Following the explosions, five people have been arrested who are suspected of various crimes in connection with the incident, according to public broadcaster SVT.
This afternoon, police received a call about a suspected dangerous object in an apartment building in central Trelleborg.
According to police spokesperson Rickard Lundqvist, a bomb squad was on site to investigate, SVT reported.
The police confirmed that residents had to be evacuated until thorough checks are made.
“We do not know how long this will take. Our goal is that people are not away from their homes for so long,” said Lundqvist.
Explosions are a regular occurrence in the Nordic country, where gang members often target rivals with bombings.
