Sweden's annual inflation hits 31-year high

Country's inflation rate at 6.4% in April

ISTANBUL (AA) - Sweden's annual inflation rate was 6.4% in April 2022, its highest level since December 1991, according to official figures released Thursday.

While energy prices dropped on a monthly basis, their annual change remained high, the country's statistical office said.

It added that food prices continued to climb, especially meat and vegetables.

The highest annual price increases were seen in fuel (44.9%), electricity (32.4%), transport. (11.6%), and housing and furnishing (both 8.5).

The rate was in March 6.1%.
