Swimmers compete in traditional Christmas race in ice-cold water in London

The Peter Pan Cup held since 1864 on Christmas mornings

LONDON (AA) - A traditional Christmas Day swimming race saw dozens of brave athletes of the Serpentine Swimming Club swim in ice-cold water in London.

Swimmers took part in the Peter Pan Cup at Serpentine in Hyde Park for the 158th time.

The cup has been held on Christmas mornings since 1864.

The event is attended by only swimmers from the Serpentine Swimmers Club who qualify after competing in several other winter races.
