ISTANBUL (AA) – Syria said Sunday it will resume flights at Aleppo International Airport as of Tuesday.
“We are pleased to announce the resumption of air traffic at Aleppo International Airport starting Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026, in accordance with the approved flight schedule,” Omar Hosari, the head of Syria’s General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, said on the US social media X.
He added that the coming phase will see “continued focus on the airport,” noting that authorities will work to develop its services and improve the overall travel experience.
The move comes as part of efforts to restore normal air traffic to the city after military escalation with the YPG/SDF terror organization.
