ANKARA (AA) - The top representatives in Ankara from Taiwan visited the Ankara offices of Anadolu Agency, Turkey’s premier news agency, on Wednesday.
The committee was received by Metin Mutanoglu, the agency’s editor-in-chief and deputy director-general.
Yaser Cheng, representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Mission in Ankara and a committee were informed about the agency’s mission, aim, broadcasting languages, and services worldwide.
Cheng addressed the potential cooperation between Anadolu Agency and Taiwan’s Central News Agency, which appointed a reporter to Turkey after 15-years break.
Anadolu Agency International News Editor-in-Chief Faruk Tokat and World Languages Editor-in-Chief Mehmet Ozturk also attended the meeting.
Taiwan's representative office in Ankara was opened in 1989 and the office was transformed into a “mission” in 1993.
At the end of the same year, Turkey established a trade office in Taiwan, and the two countries continue to improve the relations in the fields of economy, culture, tourism, and education.
