ANKARA (AA) - Taiwanese puppeteers staged a special show in Turkey's capital Thursday as part of an international puppet festival.

The Flying Group Theatre performed The Birth – a Taiwanese-French joint production – as part of the 4th International Ankara Puppet Festival.

The festival features groups from across the world, including France, Austria, and Bulgaria.

Before the performance, Yaser Tai-Hsiang Cheng, the head of Taipei's Economic and Cultural Mission in Ankara, thanked the audience.

“I want to give my greatest appreciation to the organizers of this meaningful program," he said.

"Today, we will show one of the best puppet show groups from Taiwan. I hope you will enjoy it.”

Jung-shih Chou, the creator of The Birth production, said it is part of a trilogy that shows the three phases of life: birth, growth and death.

“It is a mixture of eastern and western culture,” she said before the performance.
