ISTANBUL (AA) - Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday discussed ways to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict during an extraordinary summit of Arab leaders and members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Doha, according to Tajik state news agency Khovar.
Rahmon stressed that the Dushanbe government supports a settlement based on the “two states for two peoples” principle.
“Tajikistan sees the path to resolving all crises and conflicts in the region and the world primarily through negotiations and dialogue,” he said.
The two leaders also reviewed bilateral ties, developments in the Middle East, and issues concerning the Islamic world.
They highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts to maintain peace and stability.
Rahmon expressed satisfaction with the recent improvement in Tajik-Iran relations, noting that regular contacts and meetings are critical to the partnership's strength.
Both sides emphasized common historical, cultural, and linguistic values.
