Top Greek, Jordanian diplomats congratulate Türkiye's new foreign minister

Hakan Fidan discusses irregular migration with Greek counterpart, say diplomatic sources

ANKARA (AA) – The foreign ministers of Greece and Jordan on Tuesday congratulated Türkiye's newly appointed Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

During a phone call, Greek Foreign Minister Vassilis Kaskeralis and Fidan discussed irregular migration, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.

Ayman Safadi, Jordanian deputy prime minister and minister for foreign affairs, also congratulated Fidan over phone, the sources said.

Appointed by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Fidan formerly served as chief of the National Intelligence Organization (MIT) since 2010.

Fidan took charge of the ministry from his predecessor Mevlut Cavusoglu on Monday.
