Tour of Turkey: Caleb Ewan wins stage 4

Ewan's first podium appearance in tour

ANKARA (AA) - Caleb Ewan was the first to finish the stage four of the cycling Tour of Turkey on Friday in a tight sprint finish to claim his first podium of the race.

Juan Jose Lobato of Nippo Vini Fantini Faizanè came in second and Bora Hansgrohe's Sam Bennett finished third after nearly five and a half hours of racing.

Stage five on Friday from the Aegean Bursa province to its Kartepe town will see the tour's first mountainous stage with a 1,300-meter HC climb.

Bennett leads general classification with 16h25'42'', followed by his fellow Bora Hansgrohe rider Felix Großschartner and Jhonatan Restrepo Valencia of Manzana Postobón team.

The 55th edition of the five-day presidential Tour of Turkey runs through April 21, with 119 cyclists from 17 teams.

Organized by the Turkish Cycling Federation, the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey debuted in 1963 and became an international race two years later.
