DAKAR, Senegal (AA) – At least 37 people were killed in a traffic accident in central Mali, the transport ministry said on Tuesday.
In a statement, it said several people were also injured critically when a passenger bus collided with a lorry in Zambougou (20 kms from the city of Ségou).
The minister for transport, and civil protection had arrived at the scene who will then visit the injured at a hospital in Segou, the press release added.
Road accidents are a regular occurrence in the former French colony due to a poor state of motorways.
