WASHINGTON (AA) - US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he is considering merging the US Postal Service (USPS) with the Commerce Department.
"We want to have a post office that works well and doesn't lose massive amounts of money, and we're thinking about doing that, and will be a form of a merger, but it'll remain the Postal Service," Trump told the reporters at the White House.
His remarks came a day after The Washington Post reported that Trump is working to dissolve the leadership of the USPS, and absorb the independent mail agency into his administration.
"I think it'll operate a lot better than it has been over the years. It's been just a tremendous loser for this country," Trump added.
