Trump expands Tylenol warning to children

US president urges parents not to give Tylenol to children after previously cautioning pregnant women against using pain reliever

WASHINGTON (AA) - After previously cautioning pregnant women against using Tylenol, US President Donald Trump on Friday urged parents not to give the pain reliever to children.

“DON’T GIVE TYLENOL TO YOUR YOUNG CHILD FOR VIRTUALLY ANY REASON,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post, repeating his earlier warning to pregnant women to avoid the drug unless “absolutely necessary.”

Trump previously claimed that the use of Tylenol, also known as paracetamol, during pregnancy may be linked to a “significantly increased risk of autism,” a claim rejected by many public health authorities.

The World Health Organization (WHO) on Wednesday stressed that extensive research has found no consistent association between paracetamol use in pregnancy and autism.
