WASHINGTON (AA) - President Donald Trump departed the US state of Alaska on Friday following a summit with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on the war in Ukraine.
Trump turned and waved as he boarded Air Force One at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, where the three-on-three talks took place with Putin and two senior Russian officials. The US president was joined by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff.
The talks lasted about three hours and focused on a Ukraine settlement, followed by a joint news conference by the two leaders.
Trump is expected to land in Washington after a six-hour flight.
