TUNIS (AA) - Tunisia's independent electoral commission on Tuesday announced early presidential election would take place on Sept. 15.
Candidates, who will run for presidency, are expected to submit their applications between Aug. 2-9, according to the commission.
Electoral campaigns would take place between Sept. 2-13, while preliminary results will be announced on Sept. 17.
On July 25, Mohamed Ennaceur, Speaker of the Tunisian Parliament, became the country's interim president succeeding Beji Caid Essebsi who died earlier at the age of 92.
