BEIRUT, Lebanon / TUNIS, Tunisia (AA) - Health officials in Tunisia and Lebanon announced Monday a rise in coronavirus cases in the two countries.

Tunisia said three more people were infected with COVID-19, raising the number of infected people in the country to five.

In Lebanon, the number of those diagnosed with the disease rose to 41.

Beirut's Rafic Hariri State Hospital announced that it registered nine new cases infected with the fatal virus.

The hospital added in its report that out of 122 tests, only nine people tested positive for the coronavirus.

The global death toll from the virus is around 3,800, with some 110,000 confirmed cases, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

After declaring the outbreak an international health emergency in January, the WHO last month updated the global risk level to very high.
