MUGLA, Turkey (AA) - A boat carrying irregular migrants capsized on Monday off the southwestern Aegean coast of Turkey.

At least 31 people have been rescued and others are feared dead, an Anadolu Agency correspondent at the site said.

Coast guard teams, divers and boats have been dispatched to the coast off Bodrum, Mugla province where the incident took place.

Search and rescue operations for the missing are underway.

Turkey has been a main route for refugees trying to cross to Europe since the beginning of the civil war in Syria.
