ANKARA (AA) - At least 47 suspects were arrested during anti-narcotics operations across Turkey, a police source said on Wednesday.

In central Eskisehir province, 21 suspects were arrested over drug trafficking and 17 drug pills were confiscated in anti-drug operations, said a source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media.

Another operation was carried out in the Suleymanpasa, Corlu and Cerkezkoy districts in the northwestern province of Tekirdag, which saw six suspects apprehended.

Separately, 12 suspects were rounded up for drug trafficking and 10,040 drug pills and 120 grams of synthetic drugs were seized in the Mediterranean province of Antalya.

Seven suspects were apprehended for drug trafficking in a raid aided by two sniffer dogs and a drone in southwestern Denizli.

Additionally, a suspect was arrested and 24 kilograms (52 pounds) of heroin -- hidden inside a fire extinguisher cylinder -- were seized in the raid in Istanbul.
