BITLIS, Turkey (AA) - Five PKK terrorists were killed in eastern Turkey on Tuesday, security officials said.
The regional command in Tatvan, Turkey’s eastern Bitlis province, carried out the operation, said the officials, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.
Guards from Bitlis’ Gendarmerie Regional Command killed the five terrorists in Tatvan’s rural Anadere area, they added.
In addition, 270 kilograms of ammonium nitrate mixed with petroleum in two powder barrels were seized .
More than 1,200 people, including security personnel and civilians, have been killed since the PKK resumed its armed campaign in July 2015.
