ANKARA (AA) - Turkey on Tuesday condemned a terrorist attack in Afghanistan's eastern Jalalabad city on Tuesday.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry said: "We learned with sorrow that amid the deteriorated security situation in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan since last weekend, a terrorist attack targeting the Directorate of Migrants and Refugees Affairs in Jalalabad today resulted in the loss of many lives and injuries.

“We condemn this heinous terrorist attack and wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives, speedy recovery to the wounded, and convey our condolences to the brotherly government and people of Afghanistan,” the statement added.

At least 15 people were killed and 20 wounded as the Directorate of Refugee Affairs came under an armed assault in eastern Nangarhar province, which has been marred by pro-Daesh insurgency.

There has been no immediate claim of responsibility.
