ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s Foreign Ministry Sunday condemned the deadly bomb attack in Egypt.

“We strongly condemn the atrocious terrorist attack in a church in the city of Tanta that resulted in many deaths and injuries,” the ministry said in a written statement.

The statement also conveyed condolences to “the bereaved families and the entire Egyptian nation”.

On Sunday, at least 21 people were killed when a bomb struck a church inside the St. George Church in the Nile Delta city of Tanta in northern Egypt.

Meanwhile, hours later, nine people were killed in a second church bombing outside St. Mark’s Cathedral in the coastal city of Alexandria, an Egyptian security source said.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the bombings.
