Turkish Foreign Ministry strongly condemns terror attack in Mogadishu that killed 18 people and wounded 40

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey on Friday strongly condemned a terror attack in the Somali capital Mogadishu which killed at least 18 people and wounded 40 others.

“We are saddened by the terrorist attack perpetrated in Mogadishu, which resulted in loss of many lives and left others wounded,” said a Turkish Foreign Ministry statement.

“We strongly condemn this terror attack and wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives, a speedy recovery to the wounded, and convey our condolences to the friendly and brotherly Government and people of Somalia,” the statement added.

Al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the suicide car bomb attack on a hotel in Mogadishu.
