Turkey condemns terror attack on Afghan university

Blast claims at least 8 lives, injure 33 others, according to Afghan official

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey on Friday condemned a deadly terror attack on an Afghan university.

“We received the news with sorrow that a terror attack which took place at the Kabul University resulted in loss of lives of many and left many others wounded,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The ministry condemned the attack which “targeted an educational institution”.

“We wish Allah’s mercy upon who lost their lives and wish speedy recovery to the wounded, and convey our condolences to the brotherly Afghan people and Government,” it added.

According to an official from Afghanistan’s Public Health Ministry, the blast killed at least eight people, and wounded 33 others.

It occurred as students were waiting outside the university to take their exams.
