MUGLA, Turkey (AA) - Turkish firefighters are battling a fire that has consumed a scrubland near the southwestern resort town of Bodrum on Tuesday.
Fanned by strong winds, the flames threaten residential areas in Gundogan neighborhood, 13 kilometers (8 miles) north of the Bodrum’s city center.
Six water trucks, three helicopters and several firefighter squads have been dispatched to the site as the residents are also helping the squads.
The Bodrum peninsula is a popular holiday destination in southwestern Mugla province.
