ANKARA (AA) – A deputy of Turkey’s opposition Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) faces possible expulsion over violating the party rules, the MHP said Thursday.
Gaziantep lawmaker Umit Ozdag has been referred to the party's disciplinary committee, according to a statement issued by the head of committee, Halil Ozturk.
Ozdag is accused of breaking certain provisions of the party's constitution including those regarding membership duties and responsibilities.
Former parliamentarian and party chairman candidate Meral Aksener was expelled from the party in September after being accused of breaking certain provisions of the party’s constitution regarding cooperation, communication and mutual respect among party insiders.
