ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party candidate has been elected mayor of the western Sakarya province, according to unofficial results on Sunday.
Ekrem Yuce bagged 294,716 votes, while opposition Good (IYI) Party received 125,242 votes.
Earlier, millions of Turkish voters cast their votes in the local elections to choose Turkey’s mayors, city council members, mukhtars (neighborhood officials), and members of elder councils for the next five years.
