ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party candidate has been elected mayor of Black Sea province of Samsun, according to unofficial results on Sunday.
Mustafa Demir bagged 320,964 votes, while opposition Good (IYI) Party received 191,511 votes.
Earlier on Sunday, millions of Turkish voters cast their votes in the local elections to choose Turkey’s mayors, city council members, mukhtars (neighborhood officials), and members of elder councils for the next five years.
