ANKARA (AA) - The candidate of ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party was elected mayor of Turkey’s Black Sea province of Trabzon, according to unofficial results on Sunday.
Murat Zorluoglu bagged 241,999 votes, while opposition Good (IYI) Party received 112,967 votes.
Earlier on Sunday, millions of Turkish voters cast their ballots in the local elections to choose Turkey’s mayors, city council members, mukhtars (neighborhood officials), and members of elder councils for the next five years.
