ANKARA (AA) - Turkish fighter jets hit four Daesh targets in northern Syria on Wednesday, the military said.

The raids were carried out around 11.00 a.m. local time (0800GMT) near the towns of Akhtarin and al-Qubtan, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement. According to initial reports, buildings used by Daesh were destroyed and an unspecified number of terrorists, including a regional commander, were killed in the attacks, the military added.

Turkey launched Operation Euphrates Shield on Aug. 24 to drive Daesh out of the border region. The mission has seen Turkish air power, tanks, artillery and troops support the Free Syrian Army across north Syria.
