Ministers to meet in Antalya, Turkey at weekend ahead of Russia summit on Syria next Wednesday, Turkish FM says

ANKARA (AA) - Turkish, Russian and Iranian foreign ministers will meet in Turkey's Mediterranean city of Antalya at the weekend ahead of a trilateral meeting on Syria in Russia’s Sochi city next Wednesday, Turkish foreign minister has said.

Mevlut Cavusoglu’s remarks came during a news conference with his Lebanese counterpart Gebran Bassil in the Turkish capital late Thursday.

"There will be a trilateral summit in Sochi on Wednesday, Nov. 22. Ahead of this meeting, [all three countries'] high-ranking bureaucrats and experts will meet. Likewise, the foreign ministers of three countries will meet in Antalya at the weekend," he said.

At the Sochi meeting, participants from the three guarantor countries will discuss developments in Syria and the recent state of the region.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will take part in the meeting hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani is also expected to attend the gathering.
