MERSIN, Turkey (AA) - A YPG/PKK terrorist surrendered to Turkish security forces in the southern province of Mersin on Tuesday.
In a statement, the Gendarmerie General Command said that the terrorist surrendered as a result of the security forces’ persuasion efforts.
The statement added that the terrorist was part of the group since 2015.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants. The YPG is its Syrian offshoot.
