Turkey's AK Party to elect new parliamentary group head

The party's parliamentary group head Naci Bostanci to hand over his position on Wednesday

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's Justice and Development (AK) Party will elect a new parliamentary group head on Wednesday, the party's parliamentary group office announced on Monday.

The office noted that the present parliamentary group head Naci Bostanci will hand over his position with an election ahead of the parliamentary group meeting.

Bostanci will be assigned in the party's headquarter, "within the 2023 elections", it added.

He has been conducting his duty since 2017.

Bostanci was born in the northern Turkish city of Amasya on August 2, 1957, and he was a professor in the communications department of Gazi University in Ankara before being elected as deputy in 2011.
