ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index hit a new all-time high as it closed Friday at 1,583.59 points, up 0.5% from the previous close.
Starting the day at 1,575.83 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased 7.92 points from Thursday's close of 1,575.67 points.
It is the second consecutive day that BIST 100 had an all-time high closing. It also posted a record high weekly ending.
One ounce of gold traded for $1,786.10 by market close, up from $1,779.40 at the previous close, according to data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets.
The price of Brent crude oil was up 2.3% to $82.42 per barrel as of 6.34 p.m. local time (1534GMT).
