Turkey's Borsa Istanbul down at open

BIST 100 index loses around 110 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock dropped by 0.12% or 332.89 points on Tuesday to open at 95,066.49 points.

On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased sharply by 1.23% or 1,160.21 points to close at 95,182.49 points with a daily trading volume of 3.76 billion Turkish liras ($653 million).

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.8190 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to Monday's closing rate of 5.8130.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 6.6390, versus 6.6230 at the previous close.

One British pound traded for 7.4400 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 7.3810 at market close on Monday.

The price of Brent oil was around $63.90 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Tuesday.
