ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index climbed by 1.13%, or 1,050.14 points on Thursday to start the day at 94,275.35 points.
At the midweek's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was down 0.91% at 93,225.22 points, with a daily trading volume of 10.05 billion Turkish liras ($1.48 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 6.7710 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, versus 6.7800 at the previous close.
The Euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also decreased to 7.3620, compared to 7.3940, and one British pound traded for 8.4030 Turkish liras. It was 8.4210 at Wednesday's close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $33.45 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Thursday.
