ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.16%, or 192.44 points, on Friday to start the last transaction day of the week at 122,476.31 points.
At Thursday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was slightly down 0.03% at 122,283.87 points, with a daily trading volume of 14.6 billion Turkish liras (nearly $2.4 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 5.9870 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, versus 5.9850 at the previous close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate slipped to 6.5740, versus 6.5820, and one British pound traded for 7.7660 Turkish liras. It was 7.7810 at Thursday's close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $55.30 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Friday.
