ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose by 0.21% or 200.95 points to open at 94,736.05 points Tuesday.
On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index decreased by 0.26% to close the day at 94,535.10 points with a daily trading volume of 4.84 billion Turkish liras ($815 million).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.9610 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to Monday's closing rate of 5.9450.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also increased to 6.6680, versus 6.6370 at the previous close.
One British pound traded for 7.7270 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 7.6750 at market close Monday.
The price of Brent oil was around $71.75 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Tuesday.
