Turkey’s Buyukakcay waves goodbye to 2020 French Open

Cagla Buyukakcay defeated by Natalija Kostic in 2nd qualifying round of women's singles

ANKARA (AA) – Turkish tennis player Cagla Buyukakcay was eliminated from the 2020 French Open in the second qualifying round on Thursday.

Serbia’s Natalija Kostic beat Buyukakcay 6-3, 2-6 and 6-2 in women's singles.

The 2020 French Open's first round in women's and men's singles will start on Sept. 27 in Paris, France.

Buyukakcay, 30, was the first Turkish tennis player to compete at the Olympics at Rio 2016.
