Turkey's daily power consumption up 1.7% on Dec. 10

Turkey's electricity exports amount to 8,992 megawatt-hours, while imports reach 8,414 megawatt-hours

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 1.7% to 863,401 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at local time 18.00 with 41,118 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest daily point of 28,777 megawatt-hours at local time 05.00.

Electricity production totaled 863,979 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 1.7% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from natural gas reaching 257,584 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and hydro followed with 209,198 megawatt-hours and 146,442 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,992 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 8,414 megawatt-hours.
