Turkey’s ruling party candidate elected Kayseri mayor

Memduh Buyukkilic bags 416,514 votes in local elections

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party candidate has been elected mayor of the central province of Kayseri on Sunday.

Memduh Buyukkilic bagged 416,514 votes, while opposition Good (IYI) Party's (MHP) candidate Dursun Atas got 204,383 votes, according to unofficial results.

Earlier, millions of Turkish voters cast their votes in the local elections to choose Turkey’s mayors, city council members, mukhtars (neighborhood officials), and members of elder councils for the next five years.
