ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party candidate has been elected mayor of southeastern Sanliurfa province, according to unofficial results on Sunday.
Zeynel Abidin Beyazgul bagged 440,628 votes, while opposition Felicity Party received 257,268 votes.
Earlier, millions of Turkish voters cast their votes in the local elections to choose Turkey’s mayors, city council members, mukhtars (neighborhood officials), and members of elder councils for the next five years.
