Turkey's Treasury borrows 4.88B lira through auctions

First auction was for five-year semi-annual bonds, while the second was for nine-year semi-annual bonds

ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's Treasury has raised 4.88 billion Turkish liras ($1.38 billion) Tuesday after running two bond auctions.

The first auction was for five-year Fixed Bond Coupons (semiannually, re-open) which will be issued on Jan. 4, and will mature on April 20, 2022. They were sold at 11.25 percent simple interest and 11.56 percent compound interest.

The second auction was for nine-year Fixed Bond Coupons (semiannually, re-open) which will be issued on Jan. 4, and will mature on February 11, 2026. They were sold at 11.35 percent simple interest and 11.67 percent compound interest.
