ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey’s state-run aid agency on Wednesday donated equipment to a secondary school in Zambia.

The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) provided 800 school desks to the Shifwankula Secondary School in the East African nation.

Turkey's Ambassador to Zambia Istem Circiroglu delivered a speech at the ceremony, saying the desks were donated by TIKA as part of a project to support Zambia's education infrastructure.

TIKA has been contributing to the development of Zambia since 2000 with many projects related to education, health, agriculture and tourism.
