Turkish athlete Aydin claims gold at World Archery Para Championships

Yigit Caner Aydin beats compatriot Nihat Turkmenoglu 136-126 in final of men's individual W1 event

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish athlete Yigit Caner Aydin bagged gold at the World Archery Para Championships on Saturday.

The 29-year-old defeated his compatriot Nihat Turkmenoglu 136-126 in the final of the men's individual W1 event in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Turkmenoglu, 33, brought Turkiye a silver medal.

Aydin and Turkmenoglu together also managed to win gold after beating the Russian team at the men's W1.

The 13th edition of the championships, which began on Feb. 19, is set to end on Sunday.
