BURSA, Türkiye (AA) - Turkish auto exports to the EU rose 22% on an annual basis in the first six months of the year, according to figures from the Uludag Exporters’ Association (UIB) and the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TIM).
Total Turkish auto sector exports climbed 13%, totaling $19.9 billion in the first half of the year, accounting for 15.2% of the country’s total exports, while auto exports to the EU had a 72.6% share with $14.5 billion.
Germany was the largest market for Turkish auto exports in January-June, the data showed, totaling $3.2 billion, up 9.3% versus the same period last year.
It was followed by France with $2.2 billion, the UK with $2 billion, Spain with $1.7 billion, Italy with $1.6 billion, and Slovenia with $1.1 billion.
Seven of the top 10 destinations for Turkish auto exports were EU countries, according to the data.
