Turkish Cargo opens route to Nigeria's Kano State

Scheduled cargo flights will start Tuesday

ANKARA (AA) - Istanbul-based Turkish Cargo, a division of national flag-carrier Turkish Airlines, will launch scheduled freighter flights to northern Nigeria's Kano State, the company announced on Monday.

The flights will be launched on July 4, the company said in a statement, adding that Kano would be the second destination of Turkish Cargo in the West African country, after Lagos.

Turkish Cargo's cargo volume in the first five months of the year increased by 26.1 percent to 323,000 tons compared to the same period in 2016, according to the company.
